We're seeking a Senior Oracle Database Administrator with strong expertise across both Oracle and SQL Server environments to support a complex mix of on-premise and cloud infrastructure.

About the Role

As a Senior DBA, you'll be responsible for the performance, security, and availability of mission-critical Oracle and SQL databases-both on-prem and in Azure. This role includes hands-on involvement in system upgrades, disaster recovery, scripting and automation, and responding to high-priority incidents. You will also support the ongoing digital transformation and work collaboratively with Dev and App Support teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer, monitor, and optimise on-prem Oracle 12c/19c and SQL Server databases, Azure SQL, and Managed Instances.
• Manage Oracle Exadata platforms (ExaCC/ExaCS).
• Implement and maintain secure, scalable, and high-performing database solutions.
• Provide 24/7 on-call support for critical systems and production incidents.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support application deployments and digital initiatives.
• Develop automation scripts for routine maintenance tasks.
• Maintain DR capabilities and ensure regular testing.
• Follow best practices for security compliance and database auditability.

Skills & Experience

• Proven experience managing enterprise-level Oracle and SQL Server databases.
• Strong expertise in Oracle Exadata (ideally ExaCC/ExaCS environments).
• Solid background in Azure SQL and experience with cloud monitoring tools like Azure Monitor.
• Familiarity with CosmosDB, Sybase, Synapse, and Data Factory is highly desirable.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working in high-availability environments with 24/7 support expectations.
