Are you a passionate, organised and driven chef ready to take the lead in a fast-paced production kitchen? We’re on the hunt for an experienced Head Chef to oversee our Cold & Catering Production Kitchen – where precision, quality and creativity meet to deliver exceptional food every day.
About the Role
This is a hands-on leadership role overseeing the daily operations of our cold production team. You’ll manage food prep for sandwiches, salads, wraps, catering platters, and more, ensuring consistency, food safety and high standards across every product. You’ll collaborate with operations and logistics to meet delivery schedules, manage inventory, and lead a passionate team to success.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee all cold kitchen and catering production operations
Lead and train a team of chefs, kitchen hands and packers
Maintain food quality, presentation, portioning, and consistency
Collaborate with the Executive Chef on product development and menu planning
Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards (HACCP knowledge not essential but willingness to learn)
Manage prep schedules, production efficiency and waste minimisation
Liaise with suppliers and manage stock levels
Uphold a clean, safe and positive kitchen environment
About You
Proven experience as a Head Chef or Sous Chef in high-volume or catering environments
Strong knowledge of cold kitchen operations (salads, sandwiches, grazing, ready-to-eat meals)
Exceptional organisation and time management skills
Calm under pressure, with a can-do attitude and excellent communication
Confident in managing staff and working to daily targets
High standards in food safety, cleanliness and quality control
Comfortable with early starts (6am) and mostly a Monday - Friday role with the expectation to work the odd night or weekend shift here and there to engage with your team
