About the role

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Catering Chef / Sous Chef to join our team at YT Catering, Blacktown.

As a full-time Catering Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing the preparation and delivery of exceptional meals for our Corporate Catering Clients. This is an exciting opportunity to showcase your culinary expertise and passion for creating delicious, high-quality cuisine.

What you'll be doing

Prepare and cook a variety of dishes for our Corporate Catering Clients & Prepared Meal Pack, ensuring they meet our high standards of quality and presentation following HACCP Regulations.

Work closely with the Head Chef in the hot food section using equipment including Combi oven, griddle, pans, fryers.

Collaborate with the catering team to plan and execute catering menus that cater to the diverse needs and preferences of our clients

Ensure the kitchen is well-stocked and maintain proper food storage and handling procedures

Supervise and train kitchen staff to uphold our commitment to excellence in food preparation and service

Monitor kitchen operations and implement improvements to increase efficiency and productivity

Participate in menu development and ensure dishes are aligned with current food trends and customer preferences

What we're looking for

Minimum 2 years of experience as a Catering Chef / Sous Chef or in a similar role within the hospitality industry

Strong culinary skills and a passion for creating innovative, delicious dishes

Excellent time management and problem-solving abilities to effectively manage the demands of catering events

Demonstrated experience in menu planning, food cost control, and inventory management

Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with the catering team and liaise with clients

A commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene

Experience in large-scale catering or meal production preferred

Strong organisational and leadership skills
