About the role

We are seeking an experienced Production Manager to lead the manufacturing team in delivering high-quality products. In this pivotal role, you will oversee daily production operations, ensuring processes run smoothly and efficiently, while also managing and mentoring the production staff to foster a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.

• Hire, manage and train a team of between 3 and 5 people
• Order materials and control purchasing costs
• Manage production time frames to fulfil customer order expectations
• Produce products of a consistent quality within expected time frames
• Roster staff and control labour costs
• Work autonomously – be able to manage the production process and management of the business independently
• Be able to operate – brake press, laser machine, guillotine, welders, polishers etc
• Manufacture products to pre-existing specifications
• Appropriate knowledge of manufacturing technology – program press, laser etc.

About you

• Have formal Trade Qualifications in Sheet Metal Fabrication, Engineering or Welding
• Extensive knowledge of manufacturing technology and processes, with a focus on stainless steel fabrication
• Previous experience in a similar position or experience in the building or plumbing industry is highly regarded
• Strong communication skills
