ABOUT THE ROLE
The Florist Events Assistant is a hybrid support role spanning creative production, client liaison, and event admin. Reporting to the Events Coordinator, this part-time position (3 days per week) is based across our Brunswick East studio and various off-site event locations. You'll assist with flower prep, deliveries, and installations, while also helping manage event enquiries, quotes, and follow-ups.
This is a dynamic, people-facing role ideal for someone with a love of flowers, strong organisational skills, and a proactive attitude. We’re looking for someone confident juggling both hands-on and behind-the-scenes tasks – from bumping into a wedding, to jumping on the phone with a client, or capturing content while loading up the van.
KEY TASKS
Studio & Onsite Support
Assist Events Coordinator with flower prep, packing and event production
Support with bump-ins and bump-outs (weekends and early starts as required)
Load and unload vans and ensure accurate setup on site
Capture behind-the-scenes content when requested
Strong floral design experience & knowledge
Experience working in fast paced environments
Client & Enquiry Management
Monitor the events inbox and respond to all enquiries in timely manner
Answer phone calls and assist with client queries in a professional, friendly manner
Prepare and send event quotes, proposals and invoices using templates
Follow up warm leads and track all enquiries in the system
Admin & Coordination
Manage the Events Asana board – updating timelines, tasks and key details
Ensure all job details are clearly communicated to the Events Coordinator ahead of each event
Keep digital files and client folders organised and up to date
Assist with stock counts, prop management and order tracking when required
Essential Requirements
Ability to take initiative and work independently as well as in a team
Previous experience ordering and wholesale purchasing
Current Australian driver’s licence
Weekend availability is essential
Excellent written and verbal communication
High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
Comfortable lifting, driving, and being on your feet for extended periods
Desirable (but not required)
Experience using Asana or similar platforms
Experience creating run sheets
