Located 25km east of Condobolin, this 9,000ha mixed-cropping business is growing fast, with 2,000ha already irrigated and more development underway. The farm runs a diverse program: cotton, seed canola, bird seeds, wheat, and barley, supported by a close-knit, hands-on team of eight full-time staff plus casuals - built on trust, quality, and accountability.

The machinery fleet is modern and well-maintained - John Deere, Case IH, and Patriot - backed by on-farm mechanical expertise to keep downtime low. The business continues to invest in the right gear - and the right people.

The Role

This is a hands-on role focused on spraying, plus broader tractor work, farm development, general duties, and machinery maintenance. Around half your time will be on a self-propelled Patriot sprayer, with the rest across cropping, development, and machinery work.

You’ll work closely with the Farm Manager and agronomist to keep the spraying program on track and support daily operations. This role suits an experienced operator who’s confident with spray rigs and keen to play a part in the farm’s ongoing growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate Spray Rigs: Run a self-propelled Patriot sprayer and tow-behind rig, ensuring accurate application and equipment care.
• Machinery Operations: Operate large-scale cropping machinery, including Steiger and Magnum tractors, John Deere 8000 series, air seeders, and chaser bins.
• General Farm Duties: Assist with seeding, laser levelling, irrigation support, and broadacre cropping operations.
• Equipment Maintenance: Conduct regular maintenance and minor repairs, supported by the on-farm mechanic.

What You Bring

We’re looking for a hands-on operator with a solid background in large-scale cropping. The ideal candidate will have:

• Solid experience in large-scale broadacre cropping, with a particular focus on spraying operations.
• Proven ability to operate and maintain self-propelled and tow-behind spray rigs.
• ChemCert accreditation.
• Tractor experience, with a sound understanding of machinery care and basic repairs.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.

Preferred but Not Essential

• Mechanical aptitude to assist with equipment servicing.
• HR or HC truck licence.

What You’ll Gain

• Hourly Rate: $35 - $42 per hour + Super, depending on experience. Circa $90k - $115k per year base salary equivalent - calculated on 50 - 55 hour weeks.
• Accommodation: A new house is planned to be built on-farm, expected to be ready in around six months. In the meantime, the business is open to renting a house in town as a short-term option; alternatively, modern single-person accommodation is also currently available on-farm.*
• Work Ute: Fully maintained vehicle, including weekend use.
• Work-Life Balance: Flexible working hours, typically averaging 45–50 hours per week, with the option to take on extra hours if you want.
