A bit about the role
Youth Projects is on the lookout for a detail-savvy and team-oriented Assistant Accountant to join our Corporate Services team and help keep our finances running like clockwork! In this role, you’ll support the Financial Accountant and broader Finance Team in managing our accounts receivable, reconciling key financial data, assisting with month-end close and audits, and acting as backup for accounts payable. You'll play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy, transparency, and integrity of our financial operations.
What you'll be doing:
- Manage incoming payments and follow up on overdue accounts
- Reconcile bank and general ledger accounts
- Support month-end and year-end financial reporting
- Assist with external audits and year-end processes
- Backup our Accounts Payable Officer when needed
- Deliver high-quality support to internal and external stakeholders
What you’ll bring:
- Tertiary qualifications in Finance or Accounting (or working towards)
- Previous experience in a similar role (preferred)
- Knowledge of accounting principles and financial systems
- Sharp attention to detail and a knack for numbers
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
