The Shire of Ashburton is looking for a Community Development Officer to join our team in Tom Price. In this role, you'll deliver community development initiatives, drive activities that bring people together and work collaboratively to increase liveability in our towns.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Working alongside the Coordinator Communities East to plan, deliver and report on high-quality events, services, and programs for the local community
- Assist with, and lead, community development initiatives, including stakeholder management, youth engagement and community club and group support
- Maintaining the Shire's partnerships and reputation in the community Participate in set up, pack down and delivery of events
What You'll Bring:
- A positive attitude, strong communication skills, adaptability and effective problem-solving skills
- A passion for working with youth, families, and community groups from diverse cultural backgrounds
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility is essential for this role as it does involve after-hours, weekend, and public holiday work
- A valid C Class Driver's Licence
Note that a Working with Children Check will be required for this role. Local government experience is not essential but will be looked upon favourably.
This position offers a competitive remuneration package and six weeks' annual leave. All terms and conditions are as per the Shire of Ashburton Enterprise Agreement 2022.
