FOREMAN (STRUCTURES)

MARS Building is an established Newcastle-based builder, operating across multiple sectors of the construction industry, teaming up with both Public and Private clients. Our Projects ranging from Heritage Restorations, Multi unit developments, and Commercial Projects. We are looking for a driven and enthusiastic Structures foreman, to take on an exciting design and construct project, Multi Residential Class 2 in Newcastle.

The Company

The purpose of the Structures Foreman is to support the Site Manager and the project delivery team in ensuring the project is well planned and delivered effectively and efficiently to the highest levels of HSE and QA compliance with maintaining and where possible, improving on programme.

Specifics of the role includes;

- Supervision of all structural trades and ensure all work is completed to meet the requirements of the For Construction drawings and specifications and relevant Australian Standards.

- Plan, schedule and co-ordinate all structural works in line with the project scope and programme to maximise efficiencies.

- Overall technical co-ordination and management of the structural works, through co-ordination of design, programme and quality matters.

- Driving a culture of HSE performance and compliance with employees, workers and trade subcontractors on HSE matters and risks.

- Driving a culture of QA performance and compliance with employees, workers and trade subcontractors on QA matters and risks.

- Managing the identification and actioning of any identified defects and close out of any non-conforming works.

- Facilitating the closure of CAR’s \ NCR’s identified during investigations and audits;

- Liaising with authorities, consultants and relevant stakeholders in all matters concerning structural works.

The Role

This role is responsible for proactively assisting the project delivery team in meeting all aspects of the successful delivery of a project in relation to safety, quality, time and cost.

Key Skills & Experience

Professional:

-Demonstrated ability to manage and supervise trade subcontractors;

-Strong time management, planning and organisational skills;

-Developed communication skills and ability to influence successful outcomes;

-Ability to form effective relationships with key stakeholders including trade subcontractors;

Qualifications/ Experience:

-Minimum five years’ experience within the construction industry (medium to high rise structural experience preferred, Class 2 multi apartment dwellings ideal).

-Trade qualification or similar tertiary education.

-Understanding of Australian Standards and the NCC;

-Basic computer skills including using MS Office

-OHS White Card

-Experiencing working within a document control system
