About the Role
Kanda is seeking a dedicated Quality and Safeguarding Officer to join our Quality & Risk Business Unit. This full-time role is crucial for effective incident management, ensuring the provision of quality and safe supports and services, and protecting the health, wellbeing, and human rights of vulnerable individuals, especially children, the elderly, and people with disabilities. You will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to maintain the highest standards of quality across all services in line with legislation and regulatory standards.

This role offers flexible location options across Bundaberg, Mackay, or Brisbane, QLD.

Key Responsibilities

  • Incident Management: Identify, assess, record, manage, and resolve incidents related to providing supports and services to vulnerable individuals. Conduct necessary incident investigations.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Respond to regulatory body enquiries with timely and accurate communication. Maintain expert knowledge of relevant national quality and safeguarding policies and regulations.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Foster relationships with internal and external stakeholders, providing guidance and mentoring with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Documentation & Data: Maintain documentation consistent with reporting requirements, ensuring compliance for legislation and audits. Collect and analyse data to inform decision-making.
  • Continuous Improvement: Actively contribute to the Quality and Safeguarding Team to continuously improve team outcomes.

About You

  • Experience and/or understanding of quality functions within an organisational structure.
  • Ability to organise work priorities, perform duties under management supervision, and work autonomously when required.
  • Demonstrated experience in database systems, web-based applications, and Microsoft Suite (including Word, Outlook, Teams, and Excel).
  • Ability to be organised and to meet required deadlines, with strong attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated experience in dealing with confidential matters.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills, including active participation in a team environment and ability to build and maintain sound working relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Hold or willing to obtain: Working with Children Suitability Blue Card, NDIS Worker Screening and unencumbered Class C Driver's Licence.
