Your opportunity
Mission Australia Housing is looking for a driven and strategic Project Manager, Housing Growth to support the delivery of high-impact property development and infrastructure projects.
In this pivotal role, you'll oversee multiple initiatives aligned with our Housing Growth Strategy, from initial planning through to execution, ensuring alignment with organisational goals, timelines, budgets, and stakeholder expectations.
Working closely with Finance, Legal, and external partners, you'll bring structure, rigour, and vision to complex projects that support our mission to end homelessness and strengthen communities across Australia.

- Develop and manage key project documentation, including scopes, communication plans, risk registers, schedules, and governance records.
- Coordinate and support housing and infrastructure development activities in collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Oversee project budgets, forecasts, and financial reporting in partnership with Finance, ensuring compliance with funding and organisational requirements.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, government agencies, community groups, and Indigenous partners to support project success.
- Proactively manage project risks and drive effective change management processes to minimise disruption and ensure smooth project transitions.
- Ensure strategic alignment and governance oversight across all projects, securing necessary approvals and facilitating reporting to leadership.
Requirements for success
- Minimum of 5 years of project management experience with a focus on property development, infrastructure works and/or community or residential housing.
- Demonstrated experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder projects, preferably in property development, infrastructure, or housing sectors.
- Ability to align projects with broader organisational goals, assess risks, and make data-driven decisions to drive long-term success.
- Skilled at building relationships and influencing a wide range of stakeholders, including internal teams, government bodies, and community partners.
- Experience managing project budgets, forecasts, and financial reporting, with a solid understanding of financial compliance and accountability.
- Familiarity with development lifecycles, planning processes, and relevant government regulations impacting housing projects.
- Proactive in identifying risks and navigating change, ensuring smooth delivery with minimal disruption to operations and services.
- Ability to manage competing priorities, coordinate governance processes, and keep documentation, plans, and reporting accurate and up to date.
Before starting work with us, you will need to undertake a national police history check, qualifications, and referee checks, and have a clearance to work with children/vulnerable people.
