About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Maintenance leading hand to drive their maintenance through change, focusing on efficiencies and responsibilities within a 24/7 operation. This is a hands-on leadership role within the maintenance team, requiring strong technical ability, leadership capability, and a commitment to safety and quality in a high-performing food processing environment.
Overseeing both Mechanical Fitters and Industrial Electricians. You’ll be responsible for maintaining and improving the reliability of all production equipment and leading preventative and reactive maintenance tasks, and the integration of new hi-tech machinery to achieve production targets.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an Experience Maintenance Leading Hand to step into a leadership role in an evolving & progressive organisation.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support a team of 10+ Mechanical Fitters and Electricians across all production lines
• Lead preventative and routine maintenance to maximise equipment uptime
• Troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve breakdowns quickly and safely
• Assist with new equipment installation and commissioning
• Ensure all work is carried out to safety, food compliance and manufacturer standards
• Report on maintenance performance and suggest improvement opportunities
• Collaborate with the Maintenance & Projects Manager to align work with production goals
• Mentor and develop team members to ensure strong performance and engagement

Requirements

• Trade qualified Industrial Electrician or Mechanical Fitter with current licences
• Minimum 5 years' experience in a maintenance role within food or FMCG manufacturing
• Proven leadership experience or strong potential to step into a leading hand role
• Deep understanding of preventative maintenance and high-speed machinery
• Familiarity with OH&S, GMP and food safety compliance
• Previous experience with FIIX CMMS software
• Strong supplier network and sourcing capability (desirable)
• High-level troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and coordinate tasks efficiently
• Proactive, safety-first mindset and collaborative approach
