Principal Policy Officer
Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action – Energy Group
Posted 3 days ago
The Principal Policy Officer leads strategic policy and regulatory reforms that will be critical for Victoria's long-term renewable energy transition and electricity sector decarbonisation. The position leads development of Victorian input to regulatory reform processes at the national level and develops state interventions to drive investment in large-scale renewable generation and zero emissions firming capacity, such as long duration storage, in Victoria.
The Principal Policy Officer has strong leadership and problem-solving skills to develop well-considered and fit-for-purpose policies, often in a fast-paced environment. The position leads complex policy analysis and stakeholder engagement, in response to emerging energy transitions issues, particularly as Victoria transitions away from coal fired electricity generation and towards its 95% renewable electricity target.
