Job Connect are seeking a Leading Hand Diesel Mechanic AND a Trade Qualified Mechanic for a leading Waste Management company in the Ipswich area.

The roles will involve service and repair of:

• Earthmoving fleet
• General Service and Road Transport fleet
• Light Vehicles

We are currently seeking:

Leading Hand Diesel Fitter

Focused on leading a small team of mechanical trades to ensure preventative maintenance, service and repair of fleet are carried out with quality, safely and to schedule.

Primarily focused on actively servicing the Road Transport fleet of MC Side-tipper trucks.

The role offers:

• Competitive rate of $62.28/hr + Penalties + OT!
• 2pm – 10:30pm + Overtime
• Excellent facilities with well maintained, cleaned down, modern fleet for easier work
• Excellent safety and support from supervision
• Fixed, local role with good rate for work/home balance – no regional work required!

The role requires:

• Trade qualification in Diesel Mechanics OR other Mechanical trade with proven track record of diesel/heavy vehicle service and repair
• Experience with heavy vehicles and/or large, diesel engine vehicles
• Mechanical tooling
• Ability to work reasonable overtime as required

Trade Qualified Mechanic

Focused on carrying out service and repair of a combination of general service/road transport, heavy earthmoving and light vehicles under supervision and guidance as needed.

The role offers:

• Competitive rate of $50/hr + Penalties + OT!
• 5am – 3:30pm – usually 10 – 11 hour days, good OT!
• Excellent facilities with well maintained, cleaned down, modern fleet for easier work
• Excellent safety and support from supervision
• Opportunity to train up to working on mobile plant and heavy vehicles with seasoned professionals!
• Fixed, local role with good rate for work/home balance – no regional work required!

The role requires:

• Trade qualification in any Vehicle Mechanical trade with proven track record of qualified service and repair of vehicles
• Experience with mobile plant, heavy vehicles and/or large, diesel engine vehicles is a bonus!
• Mechanical tooling
• Ability to work 10 – 11 hour days consistently
