SUMMARY
An exciting greenfield opportunity for a Senior Legal and Compliance Operations Officer in Melbourne. This is a permanent role reporting directly to the General Counsel & Head of Compliance and leading the development and implementation of legal operations and continuous improvement initiatives for the organisation.

THE ROLE
This permanent, full-time role is based in Melbourne and reports to the General Counsel and Head of Compliance. A key focus for the role is optimising legal and compliance operations through efficient processes and technology management. You will:

Develop and implement strategies to boost technology adoption and operational efficiencies in Legal and Compliance.

Oversee the design and rollout of legal operations initiatives, including the use of Generative AI and automation of tasks.

Assist with budgets for Legal and Compliance, tracking expenditures and identifying cost-saving opportunities.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams on vendor management and compliance coordination.

Provide training and support to team members to enhance knowledge sharing and process improvement.

Monitor trends and propose innovations to improve service delivery and operational effectiveness.

ABOUT YOU
You are an experienced legal operations and compliance professional with a background in optimising processes and implementing technology solutions. Your experience in managing legal operations equips you to excel in this hands-on role and drive continuous improvement.

Experience in a legal operations, compliance and/or commercial legal work, ideally within a corporate environment.

Ability to develop and implement efficient processes and policies to streamline operations.

Knowledge of legal and compliance technologies, including document management and case management systems.

Experience in leading continuous improvement projects and technology rollouts.

Analytical and problem-solving skills with experience in data-driven decision making.

Interpersonal skills, able to build productive relationships with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.

A proactive attitude with the ability to work autonomously and foster team collaboration.

Competitive salary package of up to $225K p.a. inc. super, depending on experience, plus a range of generous additional benefits.
