About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity for a driven and passionate individual to join our People & Capability team as the Coordinator Organisational Development. In this role, you will have the chance to lead initiatives that shape Council's leadership development, talent management, and performance and engagement, embedding a continuous learning mindset across Council to ensure high performance, collaboration, and delivery of strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and execution of organisational development programs across the employee lifecycle.
  • Build leadership capability by creating practical tools, learning content, and coaching support.
  • Use data to evaluate program effectiveness, drive continuous improvement, and inform decision-making.
  • Leverage technology platforms (e.g., survey tools, digital learning) to enhance the employee experience.
  • Oversee the coordination of all corporate face-to-face and online training, including logistical arrangements and participant processes.
  • Oversee the student work experience and traineeship programs.
  • Manage the L&D diary and ensure information regarding forthcoming training is kept up to date.
  • Establish systems to record and produce regular reports on learning and development metrics.
  • Contribute to key strategic projects, including cultural transformation, talent development and organisational design.

What You Will Bring

You are a strategic and passionate organisational development or HR professional with a strong track record in building inclusive, high-performing cultures, known for your technical expertise, insights and delivery, bringing a hands-on practical approach to your work and to stakeholder engagement and collaboration.

Key Selection Criteria:

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Proven experience in an OD, HRBP or strategic P&C role with a strong development mindset.
  • A relevant diploma or degree in HR, Organisational Psychology, Business, or related discipline.
  • Strong knowledge of organisational psychology, adult learning principles, and change frameworks.
  • Proven experience in project coordination or management, preferably in a learning and development environment and utilising capability frameworks.
  • Data-driven approach to measuring impact and continuous improvement.
  • Highly developed research and problem-solving skills, including the capacity to analyse issues and develop practical solutions for process improvement.
  • Skills and experience in instructional design and creating online learning content.
  • Strong facilitation skills and the ability to influence and build trust across senior stakeholders.
  • Experience supervising and supporting the work of others, including the ability to provide day-to-day guidance, set priorities and monitor workflow within a small team environment.
  • Certifications in learning, coaching, or change management (e.g., PROSCI, DISC, HBDI) are advantageous.
  • Certificate IV Workplace Training and Assessment (desirable)
