Precinct Coordinator for Kew Junction (Administration & Governance Focus)
Kew Junction Business Association
Posted 10 days ago
The Kew Junction Business Association is seeking a reliable, organised and community-minded Precinct Coordinator to support the committee with administrative operations, governance requirements, and stakeholder communication.
This role is ideal for someone with a genuine passion for local businesses and precinct vitality. You’ll play a key part in helping the association function smoothly — behind the scenes — so the committee can focus on big-picture planning and precinct outcomes.
This is not a marketing or events role. The focus is strictly on administration, governance, coordination and reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
In consultation with the Association’s Management Committee, the Precinct Coordinator will:
· Coordinate the day-to-day operations of the Association
· Organise meetings, prepare agendas and take minutes
· Act as the main liaison for the precinct’s marketing agency, ensuring campaigns, social media, events and deliverables align with Association goals
· Maintain records and databases (e.g. memberships, documents)
· Support the committee with governance compliance and reporting
· Liaise with Council officers and relevant stakeholders
· Monitor and process supplier invoices
· Provide regular updates and reports to the Committee
· Help prepare for the AGM and ensure timely follow-up of committee actions
· Represent the association in a professional and confidential manner
· Attend governance or precinct networking forums (as needed)
What We’re Looking For:
· Strong administration and coordination skills
· Familiarity with incorporated association governance (preferred)
· Great written and verbal communication
· Ability to work independently and take initiative
· Strong digital literacy (email, online meetings, document templates, cloud storage)
· Knowledge of or connection to the local area is highly desirable
· A warm, professional, and passionate approach to supporting community-driven initiatives
Why join us?
This is an opportunity to work flexibly, support your local business community, and help maintain a well-governed and effective association. You’ll be part of a friendly and committed volunteer committee, and the role offers the chance to make a real impact through steady, behind-the-scenes support.
Location: Local applicants preferred (Boroondara or surrounding area)
Engagement Type: Contractor
Hours: Approx. 10–15 hours per week
Tenure: Ongoing contract, subject to annual renewal
Rate: $70 - $80 per hour (incl. GST)
