THE COMPANY
An exciting opportunity has opened up for a hands-on and experienced Production Manager to join a growing, design-led business focused on local manufacturing and sustainable production. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, agile environment and is confident managing everything from factory relationships to raw material inventory and system improvements.
You'll work cross-functionally with internal teams (Product, Sales, Operations, and Marketing) and external partners (local factories, suppliers, agents) to ensure quality, timing, and cost objectives are met - all while contributing to new product development and process improvement.
THE ROLE
- Manage all aspects of local production
- Build strong, hands-on relationships with Sydney-based contract manufacturers
- Conduct due diligence on new suppliers and support product development with new materials and fabrics
- Oversee raw material management, inventory levels, and production forecasts
- Ensure quality control is met across components and finished goods
- Collaborate on range planning and timeline management for seasonal buying cycles
- Work with internal stakeholders to meet delivery targets across multiple sales channels
- Use systems like Indigo8 and digital tools to improve accuracy and efficiency
- Monitor cost of goods and help identify ways to reduce costs over multiple production runs
- Support sustainability goals by working with ethically aligned suppliers and partners
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- 5+ years' experience in production management (apparel, accessories, or similar)
- Strong understanding of local manufacturing, raw materials, and supplier relationships
- Experienced in systems (Indigo8 preferred) and open to using AI and tech tools
- A self-sufficient operator who is highly organised and deadline-driven
- Great at negotiation, cost control, and problem-solving
- Collaborative, level-headed, and curious about other parts of the business
- Strong attention to detail - especially important for international markets with high QC standards
- Comfortable in a fast-paced business with evolving product lines and tight timelines
SALARY
$120K - $140K + Super (depending on experience)
