Position Summary
We’re looking for a Network Support Technician to ensure everything runs smoothly behind the scenes.
You’ll be the go-to expert for diagnosing and resolving network-related issues in smart home systems—whether it’s helping an installer bring a system online or assisting a homeowner who’s lost connection to their smart devices. Your expertise will help ensure every installation is seamless and that users stay reliably connected.
Key Responsibilities
Design networks & their interface with Control4, Dynalite & Ness M1 Security systems.
Install and configure home automation software and smart devices to meet customer needs, ensuring smooth integration across systems and platforms.
Configure and maintain routers, switches, Wi-Fi access points, and other networking equipment.
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve connectivity issues between smart home devices, Wi-Fi networks, and mobile apps.
Provide both remote and on-site technical support for network and smart home issues.
Support clients in resolving technical problems related to home automation hardware and software, including lighting systems, security devices, and distributed audio systems.
Deliver basic user training on the operation and maintenance of home automation systems.
Maintain clear and accurate records of issues, resolutions, and system configurations.
Stay informed on the latest technologies in home networking and IoT.
Requirements
Must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident.
Hold a valid NSW driver’s licence.
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
Minimum 2 years of proven experience in network support or a similar technical role in the home automation industry
Minimum of 2 years of high-level skills in CAD, Visio & Adobe design tools
Proficient in supporting Windows, macOS, and iOS environments.
Experience with Microsoft Office 365 suite and administration (Teams, Excel, SharePoint, etc.).
Must have experience with D-Tools software and Zoho CRM.
Solid understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN technologies.
Hands-on experience with home networking equipment (e.g., Araknis, Ubiquiti, Cisco).
Experience with smart home platforms such as Dynalite, Control4, Crestron, Savant, KNX, or similar.
Strong problem-solving skills and strong communication abilities.
