Join us at a pivotal moment as we launch our next major comprehensive campaign and enter an exciting phase of growth. At the University of Sydney, philanthropy is more than fundraising, it's about creating lasting social impact, advancing world-class research, and transforming lives.
About the Role
As a Fundraising Officer supporting the Brain and Mind Centre, you'll play a key role in securing major gifts that fuel ground-breaking research in mental health, child development, and neurodegeneration. What You'll Do
- Build and manage relationships with high-net-worth individuals, alumni, and supporters
- Develop compelling proposals that inspire major gifts
- Collaborate with academic leaders to identify funding opportunities
- Represent the University's mission and values with authenticity and passion

Why This Role Matters
Your efforts could:
- Enable a student from a remote community to attend university
- Support research into youth mental health or Alzheimer's treatment
- Empower Indigenous entrepreneurs through education and mentorship
You'll be part of a team that's already helped:
- Save the agricultural industry $600M annually through rust-resistant wheat
- Discover new uses for medicinal cannabis
- Launch eco-startups like Carapac, replacing plastic with prawn shell bioplastics
- Bring music education to 40+ regional towns
- Build a new multidisciplinary health and medicine hub
About You
We're looking for someone who:
- Is a natural relationship builder with strong emotional intelligence
- Communicates with clarity, empathy, and purpose
- Thinks strategically and plans for long-term success
- Is passionate about mental health, neuroscience, and social impact
- Thrives in a collaborative, mission-driven environment
Why Join Us
