The Role

• Ensuring compliance with HSE policies, procedures, and management systems
• Lead and facilitate Site Risk assessments
• Participate and review in site SWMS/JHA
• Develop strategies to reduce risk and provide expert advice
• Undertake safety inspections, interactions, audits and provide recommendations for improvements where required
• Identification of and facilitation of best practice standards and solutions
• Providing on-site expertise for all HSE matters
• Build strong, effective relationships with subbies and foster a positive working culture on site
• Oversee and implement site-specific Quality Assurance systems and procedures in line with project specs and standards
• Conduct regular QA inspections, audits, and review hold/witness points throughout the construction lifecycle
• Ensure construction activities meet contractual and regulatory quality benchmarks
• Manage NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports), track close-out actions, and lead continuous improvement initiatives
• Coordinate with construction, engineering, and client stakeholders to align QA outcomes with delivery targets
• Maintain accurate QA documentation including ITPs, checklists, and project handover records

The Person

• Cert IV or above in Occupational Health & Safety
• Proven experience and expertise as a HSE Advisor
• Experience or exposure to Quality Assurance systems and methodologies in construction
• A thorough understanding of all relevant Health, Safety, and Quality Legislation and standards
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
• High attention to detail and ability to identify and rectify quality issues early
• A continuous improvement mindset and proactive approach to problem solving
• Demonstrated ability to manage and influence multiple stakeholders
• Site-based construction experience in Australia on built form projects (Commercial, High Rise or similar)
• Familiarity with ITPs, QA checklists, and construction quality control plans
• Use of 1Breadcrumb & Procore desirable, not essential
