An opportunity has just arisen for an experienced Environmental professional to join one of the highest regarded Pipeline Construction Companies in Australia who deliver projects across the energy, infrastructure, coal seam gas, water and mining sectors. Role
As the Environmental Advisor, you will be a key member of the team, work closely with the work crews to ensure their environmental compliance, conduct site inspections/audits, develop management plans for erosion sediment control and fully utilise your strong legislation knowledge to ensure responsibilities are met.
Responsibilities include;
- Effectively manage Cultural Heritage monitoring activities
- Assist with crew construction management
- Request any permits that may be required from client or company
- Assist with all preconstruction activities, including but not limited to GDA application, Construction Zone assessment, participate in landholder preconstruction meetings.
- Participate and conduct in-field surveillance audits / inspections.
- Participate in meetings with Management and communicate effectively.
- Monitor sediment and erosion control.
- Participate in client meetings.
- Assist with crew construction management.
- Maintain client relations.
- Control and manage fauna spotters.
- Tasks as directed by Environmental Manager.
- Assist and participate in internal and external audits.
Experience
To secure this role, we are seeking a candidate with.
- Relevant Environmental tertiary qualifications,
- Minimum of 2 years in the construction industry in a similar role with Coal Seam Gas sector experience preferred
- Experience with developing management plans and procedures– erosion sediment control plans and environmental management plans
- Experience in undertaking inspections/audits of site conditions and compliance – developing reports and communicating with work crews about requirements
- Knowledgeable with all aspects of environmental legislation and notifications to relevant departments for varying scopes of work including working in/around waterways
This role is offered on FIFO basis with a 19:9 Roster with travel included in the 19 days. Meals, camp accommodation and travel to/from site is paid for.
