About the role
Main tasks: Identify, source and sell science and drug and alcohol detection products and services to new and existing customers across the Australian market. Set sales strategies that align with business goals, implement sales plans to achieve KPIs and coach, support and motivate a team of 10+ sales professionals to reach and exceed their targets.

Other tasks:

  • Identify prospects and convert them into long-term customers
  • Work closely with clients across various industries, including mining, healthcare, and law enforcement
  • Develop a structured contact plan to maintain strong business relationships
  • Stay up to date with market trends, competitor products and industry innovations
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including sales, marketing, logistics and customer service
  • Provide expert guidance, technical support and product training to customers
  • Ensure all customer interactions and sales activities are recorded in the CRM system
  • Meet or exceed set sales performance targets
  • Participate in industry trade shows and conferences to enhance market knowledge
  • Manage standing orders and tenders to drive business success.

What you must have to apply for this role:

  • Proven track record leading sales teams over an extensive period of time, including coaching & developing larger teams of 10+
  • Skills in balancing remote work with in-person visits to customers & your team as required
  • Extensive experience in selling a range of scientific products
  • A valid Australian driver's licence with a clean driving record
  • Ability to confidently present & demonstrate technical products
  • Strong commercial acumen & problem-solving skills.

You will be highly regarded if you also have:

  • Experience selling into drug and alcohol detection markets
  • Familiarity with scientific products & laboratory requirements
  • Formal sales training
  • Exposure to Australian tender processes in the scientific or forensic sectors.
