Since establishment in February 1998 Total Project Solutions (TPS) has worked collaboratively and partnered with our clients to create inspirational environments, empowering the ‘end user’ to function efficiently and safely.

TPS is Perth based construction and fitout company, where the company directors and key stakeholders are involved with all facets of project delivery from inception to occupancy. Crucial decisions can be made immediately, to ensure we meet our contractual obligations and accommodate any changes to scope or project delivery.

TPS facilitate a diverse range of projects including modern methods of construction, interior fitout, building refurbishment and new build, however we are selective in the type, value and volume of projects we undertake.

TPS excel working on ECI and Construction Management projects, with significant experience working successfully in live environments and staged projects in Universities, Schools, Hospitals, Multi-Story Office Buildings, Manufacturing Facilities and Government Buildings.

Our recent project portfolio includes Science & Research Facilities, Educational Environments, Laboratories, Hospital & Healthcare Refurbishments and Physical Containment Facilities.

You & Your Role – Construction Estimator

To facilitate the Estimating activities for Total Project Solutions Pty Ltd (TPS), whilst ensuring a high level of consistency throughout the tendering process.

You will play a key role in the existing efficient and accurate Estimating and Procurement team for an established Perth based construction and fitout company with a track record of excellence.

You will be accountable for reviewing project opportunities, executing estimating and procurement processes, coordinate, collaborate and facilitate the estimating and tender process.

To assist in successful delivery of commercial construction projects by preparing accurate, detailed, and competitive tenders.

This role is integral to the pre-construction phase and directly influences the company’s ability to secure work, maintain profitability, and uphold its reputation in the market.

Working closely with Project Managers, subcontractors, and suppliers, the Construction Estimator is responsible for interpreting drawings and specifications, conducting quantity take-offs, analysing subcontractor and supplier pricing, and compiling clear and concise tender submissions.

The role also contributes to risk assessment and value engineering, helping to identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising quality or compliance.

By applying your industry knowledge and commercial awareness, the Construction Estimator ensures that tenders are aligned with current market conditions, project timelines, and client expectations.

Your work will underpin the feasibility and financial success of each project, making this position a vital link between the company’s business development efforts and its operational delivery.

ORGANISATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS

Supported by our accomplished Estimating & Procurement Administration Manager and as part of the wider Estimating & Procurement team, close collaboration with the Operations Team, who deliver the projects while reporting directly to the General Manager on commercial matters.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

· Client relationships, collaborative and considered approach to all facets your role.

· Maintain existing, and develop new, working relationships with clients, suppliers, contractors.

· Attend on site tender briefings and site inspections to understand project scope.

· Identify and mitigate potential project risks and challenges (access, noise, latent conditions) to the cost and timeline of each tender.

· Review tender drawings and specifications, identify individual trade packages and accurately estimate and apply TPS resources and costings.

· Prepare and submit any required RFI’s throughout the tender period.

· Negotiate prices with suppliers and vendors.

· Review, coordinate and allow for any required builders works associated with various trade packages.

· Identify competitive advantages, point of difference and potential value engineering to strengthen tender submissions.

· Complete project delivery methodologies and programs to be reviewed in conjunction with Operations Team.

· Facilitate pre-tender submission review with General Manager and Operations team.

· Provide responses to post tender submission clarifications

· Support the Estimating & Procurement Administration Manager with successful tender award handover and prestart meetings with Operations Team.

REQUIRED OUTCOMES & ACCOUNTABILITIES

· Accountable for providing timely and comprehensive estimating, scheduling and procurement services.

· Manage multiple Tender and EPC submissions from inception to completion.

· Review and update cost databases to maintain accurate information on costs.

· Maintain database of projects tendered, monitor success rate and profitability.

· Identify areas for cost saving to maintain profitability.

· Remain up to date with industry regulations and standards.

· Maintain positive working relationships with all internal and external stakeholders.

· Report weekly on tenders, estimating and procurement milestones and outcomes.

Our core projects range in value between $350,000 to $2,500,000. (at times small works for regular clients from $50,000).

Several projects tendered annually between 5 - 10 million and periodic bespoke project delivery for exclusive clients to 20 million.
