About the role

Steelweld Fabrication is seeking an experienced Structural Steel Estimator to join our team in Landsdale, Western Australia. As an Estimator, you will play a vital role in the construction and fabrication industry, responsible for preparing accurate and competitive bids for a range of projects.

This is a full-time position, offering the opportunity to contribute to the strategic growth and success of our company.

What you'll be doing

Reviewing project plans, specifications, and drawings to accurately estimate labour, materials, and equipment required

Preparing detailed cost estimates and bid proposals within strict deadlines

Collaborating with the project management team to ensure estimates align with project scope and timelines

Identifying potential risks and proposing mitigation strategies to ensure profitability

Maintaining a database of historical project data to reference and improve estimating accuracy

Providing technical advice and support to the sales team throughout the bidding process

What we're looking for

Demonstrated experience as an Estimator in the construction or fabrication industry, with a minimum of 5 years' experience

Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and equipment, as well as relevant industry standards and regulations

Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications

Excellent mathematical and analytical skills, with the ability to perform complex calculations and analysis

Proficient in the use of estimating software and other relevant digital tools

Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering accurate and reliable estimates
