THE OPPORTUNITY

We're looking for a talented Senior Civil Estimator / Civil Estimator to join our pre-contracts team in a full time capacity. The role is flexible, offering a hybrid working style – with working from home arrangements, as well as working from client offices when required.

Reporting to our Principal Civil Estimator, you will be responsible for delivering First Principle Estimates for a diverse range of clients, including mining infrastructure, transport infrastructure, earthworks, utilities including water, contract mining, sewer, drainage, and pump stations.

This opportunity is ideal for a mid-level to Senior Civil Estimator looking to diversify their experience and gain exposure to a variety of projects and scopes.

ABOUT YOU

Minimum 8 years' civil estimating experience with onsite project experience in the construction industry

Tertiary qualification in engineering, quantity surveying or similar is preferred but not essential

Knowledge of construction processes, operations, and methodologies

Extensive experience in recognising and understanding implications in programs

Advanced time management skills supporting your ability to meet tight deadlines

Well-developed communication skills to assist in client meetings and to manage internal reviews and approvals

Ability to deliver competitive estimates from first principles to project start up

A proven background managing successful tenders up to $100 million

Strong commercial acumen

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

Analyse and prepare tender estimates, budget estimates and other cost related proposals in a timely manner working closely with client leaders, key stakeholders, and internal senior management

Prepare and present clear and accurate information for tender reviews

Develop innovative tender solutions through the knowledge latest design and/or construction techniques to deliver high quality outcomes

Attend tender meetings, and contribute to the development and execution of the tender strategy

Create and maintain detailed libraries, templates and up to date knowledge of civil construction

Gather, update, and review historical cost data

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Civil Engineering and / or Construction Management or related field of study

Experience estimating projects or relevant engineering experience

YOUR SOFTWARE PROFICIENCY

Highly proficient Expert Estimation (2014 & Genesis); or

Intermediate Candy Estimating: or

Experience with CATs

Intermediate Asta Power Project; or

Intermediate Prima Vera P6
