Leonay Golf Club is located at the foot of the Blue Mountains in Western Sydney and boasts a thriving food and beverage trade with annual revenue of $5 million. The Club features a Bistro, main lounge, and outdoor area with a total seating capacity of 500 guests, all overlooking the golf course. It also hosts a busy functions trade, with a dedicated function room capable of seating up to 200 guests.
About the Role
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic organisation while advancing your leadership career. As Operations Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing staff and resource management to ensure smooth, efficient operations and consistently high service standards.
Working closely with the CEO, you will play a key role in executing strategic initiatives, driving performance improvements, and fostering a culture of continuous development across the business.
Key Responsibilities
Shift Management: Efficiently manage daily operations, oversee staff, and coordinate activities to ensure seamless and successful shift transitions.
Customer Experience: Maintain a welcoming and friendly atmosphere, ensuring members and guests receive exceptional service and enjoy a positive experience at all times.
Problem Solving: Proactively address and resolve customer concerns, staff issues, or operational challenges during shifts.
Staff Supervision: Supervise, motivate, and lead team members, ensuring adherence to company policies, standards, and safety protocols.
Compliance: Ensure all club activities comply with relevant regulations, including responsible gaming practices and health and safety standards.
Reporting: Maintain accurate records of daily operations, incidents, and other key data, and provide timely reports to senior management.
Training: Deliver and facilitate training for new staff, ensuring they are well-versed in the Club’s procedures, policies, and service standards.
Collaboration: Work closely with the CEO and senior management to develop and implement strategies that enhance operations, customer experience, and revenue growth.
Analytics: Monitor and respond to financial data to support informed commercial decision-making.
Requirements
Minimum 3 years experience in a senior operations role within the club or hospitality industry is preferred. However, candidates with a strong management background seeking their next career step will also be considered.
Strong financial acumen with the ability to interpret, analyse, and act on financial data.
Proven leadership skills with experience managing multi-functional teams.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving abilities.
Solid understanding of compliance and regulatory requirements within the club industry.
Current certifications: RSA, ARCG, and First Aid.
