An exciting opportunity has become available for a full-time permanent position for an experienced Senior Finance Officer.
This position works to support Council's Executive Manager of Corporate Services in delivering effective and efficient finance functions and is responsible for supervising the Finance and Customer Service Team. Council's Corporate Services Department is a supportive, dynamic and innovative team that strives to provide excellent and timely service to customers and to continuously improve its functions through digitisation and streamlining of processes and procedures.
The successful applicant will demonstrate experience in areas such as monthly balance sheet reconciliations and financial reporting, bank reconciliations, GST and FBT administration, as well as leadership qualities and a teamwork mindset. High attention to detail and accuracy, and the ability to provide high-level customer service to both internal and external clients is essential.
Other responsibilities include ensuring end of month and year processing, and any required audit documentation completed to a high standard and in accordance with internal controls.

Remuneration:
A salary of $81,000 to $85,000 is available with a uniform allowance of $400 per annum, superannuation of 11.5%, 4 weeks annual leave with 17.5% loading.

Selection criteria:
Formal qualifications in Accounting/Finance (or studying towards), or significant equivalent experience in accounting functions
Understanding of finance functions, legislation and accounting standards
Experience working with computer systems, spreadsheets and accounting software
Prior experience in an office and customer facing environment
Strong mathematical and numeracy skills
Well-developed written and verbal communication skills with the ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality
Proven interpersonal and customer service skills
Proficient time management, attention to detail and prioritisation skills
Effective leadership skills with the ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision.
