About the Company:

As they continue to expand their production footprint, they are seeking a technically strong and commercially minded Senior Mine Accountant to support their site and corporate finance teams with timely and accurate financial insights.

About the Role:
Reporting to the Commercial Finance Manager, the Senior Mine Accountant will play a critical role in ensuring financial accuracy, compliance, and performance reporting across site operations. You will be the go-to finance contact on-site, working closely with operational teams to drive accountability, manage cost performance, and support strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead monthly management accounting and cost reporting for site operations
• Prepare and analyse budgets, forecasts, and variance reports
• Partner with operational and technical teams to track production costs and KPIs
• Monitor and control site operating and capital expenditure
• Ensure accuracy of inventory, fixed asset registers, and accruals
• Support end-of-month processes, including journals, reconciliations, and reporting
• Assist with audit processes and ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and system enhancements
• Mentor and support junior accountants and admin staff as required

About You:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce
• CPA/CA qualified or working towards
• 5+ years’ experience in a similar role, preferably within the mining or heavy industry sectors
• Strong understanding of cost accounting and site-based finance processes
• Proficient with ERP systems (e.g., Pronto, SAP, Oracle) and Excel
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, remote or site-based environment
