Role Details
Join us at the Department for Child Protection's Adelaide office as we support remote teams across South Australia.
We're seeking multiple dedicated Business Support Officers to join our team based in Adelaide, with regular travel to Coober Pedy and the APY Lands one full week in every three to provide essential support to our FIFO team.
In this role, you will:
Maintain staff records, prepare reports, take meeting minutes, draft employment contract letters, and provide advice on a range of personnel matters in collaboration with the Business Manager
Investigate workforce data and deliver accurate, timely reports and statistics
Manage payments of accounts and follow up on vendor enquiries to ensure smooth financial operations
Design and update computer-generated reports, undertake analysis, and assist in the development and implementation of new systems
To be successful:
You communicate effectively in writing and face to face, engaging confidently with clients, staff and stakeholders across government and non-government sectors.
Attention to detail is essential, as you ensure accuracy and follow procedures carefully. You act promptly to correct errors and keep others informed.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Word, Excel and Outlook, is required along with confidence using other office equipment and systems.

The Region:
The Far North office covers a large area, encompassing Coober Pedy, Oodnadatta and the APY lands. It is a diverse office consisting of two Child Protection Teams who work on a FIFO roster of 8 days on, 6 days off. The Far North office has a strong, workplace culture of supporting one another, and maintains good partnerships with other Government and non-Government agencies in town. This collaborative way of working helps the team build strong connections with the community, including the local Aboriginal Communities it serves.
