About the Role
We’re on the hunt for a dynamic Senior Payroll Officer to lead the delivery of a seamless, compliant, and people-focused payroll service for our national workforce. You’ll play a key role in ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time, while maintaining governance, compliance, and driving continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Run fortnightly end-to-end payroll for a national group
• Interpret awards and agreements for accurate payroll processing
• Manage superannuation, payroll tax, LSL, Workcover, and Paid Parental Leave obligations
• Complete accurate reporting (weekly, monthly, EOFY, and ad-hoc) and reconciliations
• Directly support the implementation of a new Payroll, WFH and HRIS software solution in collaboration with the P&C team.
• Maintain payroll data integrity, employee records, and process adjustments and terminations
• Ensure quarterly incentive payments, annual wage increases, reclassifications, promotions etc. are processed correctly.
• Champion process improvements and support legislative compliance
• Monitor and record Paid Parental Leave (PPL) payments and arrange fortnightly payments.
  
  

What You’ll Bring

• 5+ years of end-to-end payroll experience
• Experience running a midsize national payroll on a fortnightly basis for circa under 1,000 employees with established autonomy, resilience and organizational skills.
• Strong knowledge of Fair Work, NES, Super, Tax, STP, and award interpretation
• Solid experience with payroll software systems and digital literacy
• A sound knowledge of the Long Service Leave Act and Workcover as it applies to each state we operate in
• Experience with payroll change or HRIS implementations
• TAPS certification (desirable)
