MANAGER DEVELOPMENT SERVICES

The opportunity:

· Full-time – 5 year performance based contract.

· Level 10 – salary package valued at up to $160,000, including cash component, superannuation and full private use of a Council vehicle*.

· Located at our Eaton Administration Centre.

We are seeking a tertiary qualified individual who will lead and inspire our Development Services team which includes Planning, Building, Environmental Health, Emergency Management, and Ranger Services.

What you'll be doing:

· Overseeing the Development Services department and providing advice to Council and the public for the orderly compliance and development of the Shire in accordance with Council’s strategic objectives.

· Providing leadership and direction to the Planning, Building, Environmental Health and Emergency and Law Enforcement functions in the delivery of efficient high quality services.

· Ensuring that the relevant statutory requirements of all applicable Acts and Regulations are complied with by the department and promoting good governance to maintain the integrity of the organisation.

What we're looking for:

· Tertiary qualifications in Town Planning, Environmental Health, Building or Emergency Management.

· Demonstrated knowledge of Western Australian legislation pertaining to town planning, environmental health, building, emergency management, animal control, local government and heritage.

· Proven ability to engage and influence outcomes for the organisation.

· Proven leadership capability coupled with strong interpersonal skills and an ability to develop trust and engagement within a workforce and manage the demands of varied areas of responsibility.

· Demonstrated understanding of contemporary management practices including the principles and processes associated with continuous improvement, business excellence and project management.
