Position Summary
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Project Manager to join our team in Karratha, managing diverse and impactful projects that contribute to regional and community development. This is a dynamic, client-side role focused on the full project lifecycle, with a particular emphasis on stakeholder engagement, development planning, contract delivery, and risk management.
This is a dynamic client-side role that suits someone who thrives on responsibility, enjoys variety, and takes pride in contributing to impactful work in the Pilbara. While your primary location will be Karratha, occasional travel to other regional sites may be required to support project delivery.

Types of Projects You’ll Work On
At RFF, we focus on projects that make a real difference to Western Australia’s regions. As Project Manager, you’ll work on a diverse portfolio that often includes:
Housing and Community Infrastructure – Supporting the planning and delivery of housing developments, accommodation facilities, and essential community infrastructure.
Land Development – Coordinating subdivision and infrastructure projects across urban, regional, and remote locations, including tenure resolution and planning approvals.
Renewable Energy and Microgrids – Managing approvals and stakeholder engagement for innovative clean energy projects, such as standalone power systems and community-based microgrids.
Aboriginal Economic Development Initiatives – Supporting Traditional Owner groups and Aboriginal-led organisations to realise development outcomes on Country.
These projects often involve partnerships with Aboriginal communities, government agencies, and private sector proponents, requiring a hands-on and culturally aware approach to delivery.
Your Key Responsibilities
Project Scoping & Planning: Lead the scoping and detailed planning of projects including project objectives, timelines, deliverables, and resourcing, including documentation of the project plan in a Project Management Plan.
Stakeholder Management: Identify, engage, and manage stakeholders through development and implementation of tailored engagement plans.
Risk Management: Develop risk registers and implement mitigation strategies to support successful project delivery.
Procurement & Contract Management: Coordinate procurement activities and manage contracts to ensure compliance, value for money, and quality outcomes.
Superintendency & Delivery Oversight: Provide superintendency services, ensuring contractors deliver to agreed terms and resolving any delivery issues.
Project Monitoring & Reporting: Monitor project progress, manage budgets and schedules / timelines, and produce regular progress reports and updates to stakeholders.
Project Close-Out: Conduct final reporting, facilitate lessons learned sessions, and ensure all documentation and approvals are finalised.
Technical and Professional Skills
Software Proficiency: High-level skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Project (or similar project management software).
Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience writing reports, proposals, and briefings.
Organisation: Ability to manage multiple tasks, competing priorities, and tight deadlines.
Problem Solving: Proactive, solution-focused mindset with an ability to work through project challenges independently or with a team.
Required Experience and Qualifications
Qualification in Project Management, Planning, Property Valuation, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline.
Minimum 5 years of experience in client-side project management with a demonstrated track record of delivering complex projects.
Experience in stakeholder engagement, project scoping, contract administration, superintendency services, and reporting
Knowledge of infrastructure, economic development, or social/community development projects is desirable.
High proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management tools.
