About the role

Encore Electrical & Data, a leading electrical & Data services provider, is seeking an experienced Accounts Officer that is looking for a 3 days week or school hours to join their team in Slacks Creek, Queensland. This position play's a crucial role in managing the company's financial operations and ensuring the smooth running of its accounting processes.

What you'll be doing

Oversee all accounts receivable and payable functions, including invoicing, payments, and reconciliations

Prepare and analyse financial reports, such as profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements

Manage the general ledger, ensuring accurate and timely recording of financial transactions

Liaise with clients and suppliers to resolve any billing or payment discrepancies

Assist with the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts

Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and tax regulations

Provide support and guidance to the finance team, mentoring and developing junior staff members

What we're looking for

Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar accounts management role, preferably within the electrical or construction industry

Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting

Proficient in the use of Xero and spreadsheet applications. (Our Xero accounting system is linked to Simpro for job logging).

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams

Proactive problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Tertiary qualification in Accounting or a related field is highly desirable
