Salary: AUD 75,000 - AUD 80,000 per annum

Full Time Position: Approximately 38 hours per week.

Alphabet St is currently seeking a skilled Cook to join its dynamic team at Cronulla, NSW 2230. The ideal candidate will have experience in the culinary industry and possess a passion for delivering delicious and high-quality dishes. This role involves a range of responsibilities centred around food preparation, cooking, and presentation.

Key Responsibilities:

Preparing and cooking meals

Inspecting food items to verify their quality

Controlling the temperatures of ovens, grills, and other cooking appliances

Adding seasoning during the cooking process

Portioning dishes, plating food, and applying sauces, gravies, and garnishes

Storing food in temperature-regulated environments

Preparing meals to accommodate special dietary needs

Help chefs for menu planning and estimating food quantities

Assist chefs in training kitchen staff and apprentices

Qualifications and Skills:

A minimum of one or more years of culinary experience in preparing dishes in a commercial setting.

Atleast Certificate III in Commercial cookery or equivalent.

Thorough understanding of health and safety standards in the kitchen, including food handling and sanitation practices.

Proficient in culinary techniques and adept in operating kitchen equipment and tools.

Meticulous in food preparation and presentation, with a strong focus on delivering high-quality dishes.

Capable of interpreting recipes and menu plans accurately and creatively.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented kitchen environment.

Good physical stamina, capable of working in a fast-paced kitchen and standing for long hours.
