About the Role

Victor Churchill (Birchan Pty Ltd) is on the hunt for a Cook to join the team to cook high quality products for our customers. The Cook will work within a small team environment and report into the Chef and Store Manager.

Key responsibilities:

The cook will assist in all ordering from Mascot Production Kitchen. This includes ensuring timely and accurate orders to maintain inventory levels and meet kitchen demands.

Cooking for all night functions, ensuring high-quality food preparation, garnishing and presentation during evening events or special occasions.

Butchering, marinating, chopping, and finishing up various ingredients to ensure they are ready for use in recipes.

Preparing all necessary ingredients, equipment and supplies for cooking. Additionally, the cook will be responsible for keeping up with orders and fulfilling them promptly and accurately.

Making all meringue desserts to perfection, adhering to established recipes and standards for taste and presentation.

Monitoring expiration dates of ingredients and products, rotating stock as necessary to minimize waste and ensure freshness.

Ensuring high level of quality and presentation is achieved at all times

Ensure that the kitchen is kept clean and tidy, pots and pans cleaned at all times

Maintain a safe working environment in the kitchen and back of house areas

Accepting deliveries and checking invoices, weight and dates of product

Make sure everything you prep during the day is put away tidy and dated

Working Conditions:

Full time role however, overtime may be required from time to time

Minimal weekend work required

Generous remuneration above industry benchmarks

Street parking available

The Ideal Candidate:

At least 1 year of full-time equivalent experience in a cook role with qualifications in Commercial Cookery

Experience in a customer service/ retail environment

Ability to work effectively as part of a team

Proven reliability and punctuality

A positive, can-do attitude

Shows initiative with a common sense approach
