Infrastructure Architect
Data centre migration – NSW Government Organisation- ASAP start – initial assignment until 30/06/2026 - Pay rate: $1145 per day (including super)
Key accountabilities:

• Analyse current and planned infrastructure architectures to ensure the migration project has the capability and capacity to meet stakeholder and customer needs.
• Create comprehensive infrastructure architectures and technical designs for the data centre migration project, ensuring deliverables align with enterprise architecture frameworks, principles, and governance processes.
• Ensure all solutions align with strategic direction for technology investments. Verify solutions are developed, tested, and implemented according to the technology roadmap and reports on solution delivery
• Work closely with internal program and project resources, such as other architects, network engineers, and development teams, to develop and implement proposed infrastructure solutions within agreed timeframes.
• Ensure solutions align with enterprise standards, patterns, best practices, and strategic directions.
• Collaborate with business analysts, network engineers, and testers to address technical design challenges and operational issues.
• Facilitate workshops and presentations with internal and external teams to resolve any issues and ensure smooth integration.
• Act as the lead technical representative for the data centre migration project, liaising with third parties and vendors.
• Ensure delivery against SLAs and Operational Level Agreements

Selection criteria:

• Extensive technical experience with infrastructure domains such as storage, backup, server, MOEs, firewalls, cloud PaaS/SaaS, Microsoft technologies and security controls
• Recent experience on a data centre migration (within the last 12 months)
• Hands-on experience developing detailed architecture designs and having them approved by governance forums
• Extensive experience in dependency mapping
• Experience working with protected data highly beneficial
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Strong problem solving skills
• Proven experience leading teams through technology changes and guiding the adoption of modern methods of designing and building IT systems
• Advanced understanding of solution design frameworks
