Our Client

Our customer is a food manufacturing business that, for 30 years has specialized in, but is not limited to, producing crumbed chicken products for the local and national market. Located south of the river, they are committed to their people, their products and their customers. They are looking for an experienced Food Production Manager to join their team on a full-time basis.

What Your Day May Look Like

Reporting to the Operations Manager, as Food Production Manager you will be responsible for all production related aspects of the business. You will oversee the day-to-day production operations of the business, bringing cohesion, improvement and efficiency to all production aspects of the business. You will develop, maintain and implement plans with approval from the Operations Manager to ensure quality standards are sustained and excelled. You will manage and motivate all production personnel. The role will see effective planning, coordinating, organizing, monitoring, training and decision making to meet and exceed the production targets, while maintaining and promoting the highest OHS&E standards at all time.

Here's the Specific Duties of This Role:

Ensuring production, quality compliance and OH&S procedures are maintained to the highest standard at all times.

Assisting the Operations Manager and General Manager with the development, maintenance and implementation of plans and strategies to improve production efficiencies.

Leading, driving, managing, motivating and inspiring your team.

Planning and effective resource management to meet or exceed production targets and KPIs, including yield control.

Reporting on the condition of production equipment used.

Effective staff rostering and wage control.

Assisting with adhoc duties as required by the business.

Who We’re Looking For

You will have recent experience working as a Production Manager in a food manufacturing or processing environment. You will have experience leading and managing a food production team. You will have recent experience serving major retailers and understanding their quality requirements. Experience working in meat or high-risk food processing will also be highly regarded. You’ll Be the Perfect Candidate If You Have:

Direct, recent experience as a Production Manager or 2IC in food manufacturing or processing.

Experience with serving major retailers and understanding their requirements.

Outstanding leadership and communications skills.

Good understanding of workplace OHS&E standards.

Full Australian working rights with no restrictions.

HACCP training and accreditation would be ideal, but not essential.

Physically fit and able to undertake all duties of the role.

The ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Ability to prioritize, problem solve and multitask.

Ability to follow policies, processes and procedures.

Strong organizational and time management skills.

Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team.

Competency with Outlook, Word & Excel.

Solid understanding of business commercials in a food environment.

A great attitude, down to earth and be reliable.
