About the Company:

This superb WA civil contracting business is privately owned and operated and is embedded as a preferred supplier to several global mining and energy clients, Main Roads WA, and various local government entities in the north-west of the state. This broad client base provides a consistent flow of civil infrastructure projects and they now require an OPERATIONS MANAGER to help guide existing projects, continue to grow the team, and navigate their next phase of growth.

About the Role:

This OPERATIONS MANAGER role is a permanent position that will either require you to Fly-in, fly-out to WA’s north west on 5/2 4/3 roster basis ex-Perth, or alternatively you could relocate to Karratha and utilize a generous accommodation allowance provided by the company. Your core function and responsibility will be to oversee all site operations and ensure projects are delivered to scope, on time, and to budget through effective coordination and utilization of resources, equipment, and subcontractors for optimal productivity. You will lead and mentor project managers, supervisors, and field staff and drive continuous improvement in safety, quality, and performance across the business. The successful OPERATIONS MANAGER will also need to showcase your excellent communication and stakeholder management skills to foster relationships and champion client satisfaction. In addition, you will provide strategic input to business development and long-term planning efforts. We encourage applications from either proven Senior Project Managers ready to take a step up, or if you are a proven civil OPERATIONS MANAGER looking for a new challenge of growing an established civil contracting business. On offer will be a tremendous salary package CIRCA $300K + Super & Work Vehicle (+ housing allowance if residentially based).

Skills & Experience required:

• Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering or Construction Management
• Minimum 10+ years’ civil construction experience for Civil Contractors in Australia ideally leading minesite civil projects involving bulk earthworks and general civils
• Proven success as a Project Manager / Senior Project Manager / Operations Manager on $20-40m+ minesite civil and earthworks projects for civil contracting companies in Western Australia
• Proven ability to manage large civil projects for blue-chip mining clients such as Rio Tinto, BHP, or FMG
• Strong leadership and organization capability to manage teams across multiple concurrent civil construction projects
• Excellent commercial acumen and risk management skills to oversee and diagnose project performance effectively
• HSEQ focused with superb all-round communication skills
• Currently Perth/WA OR Karratha based with existing rights to live and work in Australia
