The Role: Operations Manager

Are you an experienced and driven Operations Manager looking to take the next step in your career?

Our client, a respected and growing contractor specialising in transport, civil works, and rehabilitation services, is seeking a dynamic leader to join their South West-based team.

In this pivotal role, you will work closely with the General Manager – Operations, project managers, and site superintendents to ensure the smooth delivery of current projects while driving operational performance across the business.

This is a hands-on position suited to someone with a solid background in mining, civil construction, or similar industries. Your ability to manage client relationships—including key accounts and small to major projects—will be essential, along with contributing to business development and sales activities to support future growth.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee and coordinate existing projects across transport, civil, and rehabilitation sectors.
• Collaborate with the GM Operations, project managers, and site teams to ensure project delivery, safety, and quality standards are met.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships with both small and major accounts.
• Identify new business opportunities and assist in sales to support the company’s growth strategy.
• Provide leadership, guidance, and support to operational teams, ensuring best practices are followed across all worksites.

About You:

• Proven experience as an Operations Manager or in a senior operational role within mining, civil construction, or related industries.
• Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport across all levels—from clients to site crews.
• Commercially astute, with an understanding of project profitability and business development.
• Hands-on, solutions-focused approach with excellent problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
