An exciting opportunity is available for a proactive, experienced, and detail-oriented Senior Bookkeeper to join our team. We’re seeking an enthusiastic team player to deliver high-quality bookkeeping and payroll services to a well-established and diverse client base.
Flexible working hours (between 25–38 hours per week) are available, with the option to work from home after the completion of training and probation.
Applicants must hold a minimum Certificate IV in Financial Services (Bookkeeping).
Position Overview
This role is ideal for a motivated individual who thrives in a client-facing, fast-moving environment. You will be responsible for providing end-to-end bookkeeping support, payroll processing, and ensuring ongoing compliance with all relevant financial obligations.
Key Responsibilities
Daily bookkeeping for multiple businesses, including data entry, bank reconciliations, invoicing, and financial reporting
BAS preparation and lodgement
Processing accounts payable and receivable (including debtor and creditor management)
Payroll processing and compliance, including superannuation, long service leave, RDOs, workers’ compensation, terminations and redundancies
Preparation of monthly financial reporting and subcontractor statements
Proficient use of cloud-based accounting platforms including Xero, MYOB, and Dext
General ledger work including journals, clearing accounts, loans, and finance agreements
Maintain compliance with ATO requirements
Identify and recommend process improvements to improve efficiency and accuracy
Skills & Experience
Required
Minimum 3+ years of professional bookkeeping experience
Certificate IV in Financial Services (Bookkeeping or Accounting)
Strong proficiency in Xero, MYOB, Dext and Microsoft Office Suite
Knowledge of payroll legislation and compliance
Experience in general bookkeeping and financial reporting
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
Strong attention to detail and time management
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
High level of integrity, discretion, and professionalism
Knowledge of General Journals, clearing accounts, Loans, HP payments, finance agreements, and FBT
Desirable
BAS Agent registration (preferred but not essential)
Experience with multiple entity types or industry sectors
Familiarity with cash flow forecasting and business finance analysis using Excel
