Job Title: Senior Bookkeeper & BAS Agent (Xero and CommBiz Expert)

About the Role:

We're looking for a highly experienced, detail-oriented Senior Bookkeeper and qualified BAS Agent who thrives on tackling complex financial challenges head-on. Your primary focus will be to maintain exceptional accounting standards across multiple dynamic companies within our group, managing transactions, compliance, and financial accuracy using Xero and CommBiz.

The Challenges You Will Tackle:

Managing daily, high-volume transaction reconciliations across multiple entities.

Navigating complex intercompany transactions clearly, ensuring compliance at every step.

Maintaining accurate, timely, and compliant BAS lodgements under tight deadlines.

Handling sensitive financial transactions through CommBiz with precision.

Creating and improving automation systems to streamline our bookkeeping processes.

Collaborating with leadership to address financial discrepancies proactively.

Resolving historical bookkeeping issues and maintaining rigorous financial documentation standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Comprehensive daily reconciliation and transaction categorisation in Xero

Timely preparation and lodgement of quarterly BAS returns

Detailed monthly financial reporting (Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow)

Management of banking transactions via CommBiz, including payments, transfers, and approvals

Proactive compliance monitoring for GST, PAYG, Superannuation, and other statutory requirements

Ensuring accuracy and compliance across multiple, fast-moving business units

Skills & Experience Required:

5+ years of dedicated bookkeeping experience, ideally in multi-entity environments

Registered BAS Agent qualification essential

Demonstrated expertise with Xero accounting software and CommBiz banking platform

Advanced knowledge of Australian taxation compliance (GST, BAS, PAYG)

Exceptional attention to detail, organisational skills, and problem-solving ability

Ability to communicate complex financial issues clearly and proactively

Bookkeeping qualification or certification (e.g., Certificate IV in Bookkeeping) strongly preferred
