The Heather and Noel Vose Library is seeking a motivated and service-oriented Library Technician or Officer with a heart for ministry and a passion for supporting student learning. Join our Perth campus, 2 or 3 days/week (permanent, part-time), and contribute to one of Western Australia’s most respected theological libraries, with a rich history since 1963 and a growing collection of over 51,000 resources.

About the Role:
This role supports the daily operations of the Perth campus library and provides high-quality service to students and staff. Responsibilities include:
Collaborates with library staff to manage our physical and digital collections (e.g., monographs, local print serials, eBook Central) and systems (e.g., Liberty).
Assists with cataloguing and circulation tasks through Liberty.
Supports the Perth Campus with administrative, reception, and event tasks as needed.
Permanent part-time, 2 or 3 days per week (15.2 – 22.8 hours), with workdays / work hours to be scheduled between Monday and Thursday.
Initial training will take place on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. After that, there is flexibility to adjust workdays / work hours in consultation with the manager.
Remuneration: At a full-time equivalent (38 hours/week), from $58,299 – $69,790/year (excl. 12% Super) depending on experience. This will be pro-rated depending on working hours.
Essential Attributes (please respond to these in your Cover Letter):
A qualification or intent to pursue library studies conferring eligibility for ALIA library technician or associate membership.
We are willing to discuss the sponsorship of library studies for the successful applicant.
Experience in library operations (e.g., cataloguing and client services).
Strong computer literacy and proficiency in MS Office.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a commitment to customer service.
A high level of reliability, initiative, and ability to work independently.
Active involvement in a local evangelical church and demonstrated Christian character.
Alignment of personal values, beliefs and practices with MC’s mission, Staff Code (https://tinyurl.com/mcstaffcode), and Christian ethos.
Willingness to embrace a culture of shared evangelical conviction and gracious, respectful disagreement on other matters.
Desirable Attributes:
Familiarity with library-specific technologies and systems.
An interest or background in theology.
