About the Role:

Are you passionate about student success and love being part of a high-energy, student-focused environment? Join Curtin Library’s dynamic team as a Peer Learning Support Officer, where you’ll help support two of our most impactful peer learning programs – UniPASS and Peer Academic Mentoring (PAM).

In this engaging and fast-paced role, you’ll work alongside our Peer Learning Coordinator to provide vital administrative support that keeps these programs running smoothly. UniPASS offers free, peer-led study sessions that help students master challenging units, build confidence, and connect with their classmates, while PAM employs top-performing mentors who share insider tips and strategies to help others thrive in their studies.

You’ll be part of a passionate, student-focused team, working alongside driven, high-performing students who want to make a difference. If you're organised, enthusiastic and excited by the idea of helping others reach their academic goals, this is the role for you.

Please note, this role is part time 0.7 FTE (26.25 hours per week), which offers flexibility and is ideal for candidates seeking a meaningful position that fits around other commitments.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Respond to enquiries from students, staff and other stakeholders in a proactive, professional and customer-focused manner, ensuring information aligns with program guidelines and procedures.
  • Coordinate the day-to-day administration of the peer learning programs, including scheduling, facilities, resource management, and procurement of consumables within delegated budgets.
  • Support the recruitment, training and ongoing coaching of new and returning peer learning staff.
  • Promote the programs by maintaining accurate, engaging content across key platforms.
  • Assist the Peer Learning Coordinator with program reporting through data collection, analysis and continuous improvement efforts.

We are looking for:

  • Previous experience providing high-quality administrative support.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a supportive team setting.
  • Excellent oral communication skills and the ability to engage professionally and respectfully with a diverse range of people, with cross cultural sensitivity.
  • Exceptional organisational and time management abilities, with a keen focus on meeting deadlines and managing competing priorities.
  • Computer literacy, with proficiency using the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Previous experience in the higher education sector (desirable).

Role Requirements:

  1. As this is a fixed-term contract, you will require current work rights in Australia that match the tenure of this role
  2. Successful applicants are subject to a National Police Clearance, and background, integrity, and reference checks to Curtin’s satisfaction.
