The City of Fremantle is seeking suitable applications for a key member of the library leadership team at the new state-of-the-art Fremantle Library in the Walyalup Civic Centre. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a busy and collaborative team at a pivotal moment in time.
Key responsibilities include:
• Coordinating the operations and resourcing of the Fremantle Library
• Supporting the development and training of Library Customer Service Officers
• Provide clear direction and communications to the Lifelong Learning team
• Follow City policies and procedures with a view to continually improve the library service.
The Team Leader Library Operations reports to the Library Manager and oversees the day-to-day operations of the library, as well as contribute to the strategic direction of the service. The ideal candidate will have extensive customer service experience, knowledge and understanding of the challenges of modern public libraries and the ability to lead in a change environment. Completion of or working towards Tertiary qualifications in Library and Information Science, demonstrating eligibility for Associate Membership of the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA) is required.
