Overview
The Library Services Centre provides innovative, high quality, customer-focused Library services including digital and information literacies and use of learning technologies, research skills, information resources, scholarly and cultural collections, and learning facilities that contribute to and enhance the University’s learning, teaching, and research goals. The Library delivers a wide range of online resources and services to all campus and study locations and to clients both on and off-campus. The Library is also responsible for the overall management and control of the University’s records.
We currently have several exciting opportunities for motivated and client-focused Library Technicians (HEW 4) to join our Digital Literacy and Library Experience team:
- 1 x Full-time ongoing position
- 1 x Part-time fixed term (0.6 FTE, until December 2025) position
- Creation of a talent pool of suitable candidates for potential future HEW 4 Library Technician vacancies
These roles may be based at any of ECU’s metropolitan campuses (Joondalup, Mount Lawley, or City Campus).
About the Team
The Digital Literacy and Library Experience team delivers frontline library services across all campuses and online, managing spaces, the library website, and support for digital and information literacy. Working closely with librarians and other staff, the team contributes to a high-quality student and staff experience.
What You’ll Need
- A Diploma qualification in Library Science or a relevant discipline with relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and/or training.
- Proven customer service experience in both online and in-person settings.
- Knowledge and experience using Customer Relationship Management systems to triage and resolve queries.
- Knowledge and experience using library systems, including loans, library catalogues and discovery tools.
- Knowledge of learning technologies such as Microsoft Office 365, Learning Management Systems (LMS), video recording tools and collaborative software tools and the ability to assist students and staff to access and use these technologies.
- Ability to work cooperatively and undertake physical tasks (e.g., shelving, collection relocation).
Benefits & Remuneration
This ongoing position attracts a remuneration of $74,435 to $79,279 pa plus 17% University superannuation contribution (paid on a pro-rata basis). ECU supports a work/life balance for staff.
