We are now seeking a passionate and experienced Quality and Education Manager to lead the clinical education, quality systems, and capability development across our residential aged care home in Canberra. This leadership role is central to building a confident, skilled, and future-ready workforce while embedding best practices across all aspects of care.
This role works closely with our Operations Manager, Clinical Leaders, and HR Manager, with direct impact on service delivery, workforce capability, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
As the Quality and Education Manager, you will:
Lead the design, delivery and evaluation of all internal clinical and mandatory training for nurses, carers, and support staff
Facilitate onboarding, buddy systems, competency assessments, and career pathway programs
Conduct internal audits, lead risk reviews, and drive continuous improvement initiatives
Monitor compliance with the Aged Care Quality Standards and support external audit readiness
Partner with the HR Manager to build structured learning pathways, workforce capability matrices, and succession planning
Report on key metrics including mandatory training coverage, staff competency, and performance uplift
Support a culture of accountability, evidence-based care, and professional growth
About You
You are a clinically strong educator and quality-focused leader, committed to building capability and improving care outcomes.
You will bring:
AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse or Endorsed Enrolled Nurse
Minimum 5 years’ experience in aged care or community care
Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (TAE40116) or willingness to obtain
Deep knowledge of the Aged Care Quality Standards, clinical governance and care frameworks
Proven ability to deliver engaging, evidence-based training programs
Strong interpersonal and coaching skills with the ability to influence and guide staff
Experience in audits, incident reviews, risk management and policy development
Strong digital literacy, including Microsoft Office and learning management systems
Desirable:
IPC (Infection Prevention & Control) Lead Certification
Postgraduate qualification in Adult Education, Clinical Governance or Leadership
Experience in standalone aged care or multicultural care settings

Villaggio Sant’ Antonio is a non for profit, multi-cultural aged care facility catering for Residents with a variety of needs. The facility is managed and run by paid personnel in conjunction with community support under the direction of the Board of Villaggio Italiano Limited.
The facility includes extensive landscaped grounds, a nondenominational chapel, numerous sitting and activities rooms and a community hall.
