Our client is well-known nationally for their high-quality products in the mining and construction industry, specialising in custom design and fabrication of products along with equipment hire.

We’re currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join their team. Reporting to the Senior Engineering Manager, the Mechanical Engineer works collaboratively with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, innovative solutions. The Mechanical Engineer provides technical expertise and hands-on support to ensure the successful execution of engineering activities, ensuring high-quality and timely deliverables. This role is responsible for designing, analysing, and improving mechanical systems and components, ensuring compliance with quality standards and project specifications.

The role:

• Design and develop systems, components, and equipment for manufacturing and production.
• Validate technical drawings for accuracy, compliance with standards, and readiness for production.
• Oversee the implementation and monitoring of 3D printing and scanning activities, ensuring efficiency, quality, and safety.
• Assign part numbers and establish Bills of Materials (BOMs) and routing for new products using enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems like Sage.
• Action and resolve Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) promptly to minimise disruptions in production.
• Develop and implement procedures to streamline engineering and production workflows.
• Conduct detailed analysis, simulations, and testing to validate designs.
• Ensure compliance with WHSEQ standards, ISO certifications, and project requirements.
• Prepare and review technical drawings, specifications, and documentation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimise designs for manufacturing and assembly.

What we're looking for:

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
• Proven experience in mechanical design and analysis.
• Demonstrated experience in innovative and sustainable mechanical solutions.
• Strong knowledge of WHSEQ standards, ISO certifications, and lean principles.
• Proficiency in Solidworks CAD software, PDM and mechanical analysis tools.
• Exceptional problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Strong safety focus
• Highly organised with a strong attention to detail
