We’re representing a national building services contractor that’s built a reputation on delivering high-quality, innovative, and energy-efficient HVAC solutions across a variety of commercial, retail, health and infrastructure projects. With major wins in the pipeline, the team is growing and they’re on the lookout for a passionate Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their Sydney based team.

About the role:

You’ll be at the heart of the Sydney team’s project delivery, managing and coordinating the mechanical design process across construction and estimating. You’ll liaise closely with Project Managers, Estimators, and Clients to ensure seamless delivery of technically sound, code-compliant, and cost-effective HVAC solutions.

You’ll play a pivotal role managing design-related aspects from early-stage planning through to project completion.

What you’ll be doing:

• Leading mechanical design development on new and active construction projects.
• Liaising with clients, consultants, and subbies to ensure alignment on scope and technical requirements.
• Reviewing tender documentation and providing technical input on pricing, planning and constructibility.
• Assisting with site inspections, commissioning, troubleshooting and handover documentation.
• Providing technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and site teams.
• Ensuring compliance with all relevant building codes, safety standards and legislative requirements.

What you'll bring:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• HVAC design experience across commercial or infrastructure projects.
• Proven ability to manage complex designs from tender through to construction.
• Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence outcomes.
• High-level knowledge of engineering software and modelling tools.
• A collaborative mindset, excellent communication skills, and strong attention to detail with a genuine passion for quality work and contributing to a high-performing team.
