About the role
BLD Engineers' is seeking a talented Mechanical Site Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a Mechanical Site Engineer, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the successful implementation of complex mechanical engineering projects across Australia. This full-time position offers the opportunity to work on a variety of challenging and rewarding projects within the engineering industry.
What you'll be doing
Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of mechanical systems on construction sites
Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including project managers, site supervisors, and subcontractors, to ensure the timely and efficient delivery of projects
Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and safety regulations
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues that arise during the construction process
Provide on-site guidance and supervision to contractors and technicians
Maintain detailed records and documentation of project activities
Develop and manage preventive maintenance and inspection plans to ensure long-term system reliability and performance
Lead the assembly and commissioning of mechanical equipment, ensuring systems are installed, calibrated, and tested in line with design specifications and operational requirements.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of mechanical engineering processes and procedures
What we're looking for
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a Mechanical Site Engineer or in a similar role
Proven experience in developing and managing preventive maintenance and inspection plans
Strong technical knowledge of mechanical systems
Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications
Proficiency in Autocad, Solidworks, Power BI
Proven experience in assembly and commissioning of mechanical equipment
Experience in inverse engineering
Familiarity with relevant codes, Australian standards, and regulations in the construction industry
Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills
Strong organisational and time management abilities
Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and with various stakeholders
Willingness to travel to project sites and undertake FIFO work in remote areas, as required.
